Feeling Green? All-Natural Cleaning Solutions

In honor of Earth Day, we thought we'd give you some organic, homemade cleaning solutions you can whip up in your kitchen. And when we say whip up, we mean it -- these are some incredibly simple recipes that will save you money but not waste your time. The best part? You can feel confident that your solutions are free of any chemicals and safe for your home and the Earth.

Borax

Borax solves many a cleaning conundrum.

  • Dissolve 1/2 cup of Borax into one gallon of warm water. (You can store this easily in an empty spray bottle for continued use.) This mixture is fantastic for cleaning  countertops and other surfaces, like scuffed balls or baseboards. Simply spray the area and wipe well with a damp cloth.
  • For stovetops, sprinkle Borax on tough-to-clean portions and scrub with a sponge or cloth. Wipe down with a damp cloth and let it air dry.
